Ferman Akgül is a musician, lyricist, producer, director, architect and author. Raised among Anatolian folk songs, Turkish classical music and rock, he built his grounding in traditional music through his training at the Üsküdar Musiki Cemiyeti. After a degree in architecture he took a master's in cinema, and has directed music videos for artists including Cartel, Sagopa Kajmer and maNga.

Since 2001 he has been the lead singer and one of the songwriters of maNga, reaching audiences in Turkey and beyond. The band was named Best European Act at the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards, and took second place for Turkey at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest with "We Could Be the Same". He continues to tour and record with maNga.

Alongside music he works in literature and visual narrative; he is the author of "Osmanlı Cadısı Tırnova", a collection of fantastical stories. His new solo single "Bi' Yer Var" opens a new chapter, drawing alternative pop-rock together with contemporary electronic textures. The dates of his first solo tours in Turkey and Europe have been announced.

He lives in Denmark with his family and continues to work with Danish musicians on a range of musical projects.
